Comparative Study on Load Monitoring Approaches

Without an appropriate monitoring system, the condition/state of electrical appliances/devices in operation households cannot be fully assessed, resulting uncontrolled expenses. The purpose load techniques is to save electricity consumption. With proper controls, overconsumption energy can reduced and unwanted activity that lead unnecessary consumption eliminated. To achieve this, two approaches are used. first approach, which says each device monitored by means individual meters or metering devices, called intrusive (ILM) requires expensive deployment devices for its use. In contrast one, second approach non-intrusive (NILM), monitors without need any intrusion. this configuration, total consumed disaggregated into load. progress/advances artificial intelligence, gaining interest with influences other areas research. Knowing these developed aim encourage occupants dwellings optimizing their consumption, paper presents a comparative study approaches, order highlight strengths as well weaknesses them. It therefore offering researchers opportunity make choices according orientations given research work.
